Script.it tracks usage through credits — a simple unit that covers both AI model calls and script execution time. Every account starts with free included credits, so you can start building and running automations without providing payment details. When you need more capacity, you can upgrade to a paid plan through Stripe checkout.
How credits work
Credits are consumed each time you interact with the AI agent or run a script. Two things drive credit usage:
- AI model calls — every message to the agent, every script build, and every automated run that involves the AI uses credits proportional to the amount of text processed.
- Execution time — running script blocks consumes credits based on how long the execution takes.
You can check your current credit balance and a breakdown of recent usage in Settings → Billing.
Plans
Script.it offers a free plan and paid plans with higher credit limits.
| Plan | Credits included | Credit card required |
|---|
| Free | Limited credits | No |
| Paid | More credits | Yes (via Stripe) |
The free plan never requires a credit card. You can build and run scripts with the included credits at no cost.
Both plans give you access to the full Script.it feature set. Upgrading to a paid plan increases the credits available to you each period.
Upgrading to a paid plan
Open Settings
In your workspace, click Settings in the navigation, then select the Billing tab.
Choose a plan
Review the available paid plans and select the one that fits your usage. You’ll see the credit allowance for each option.
Complete checkout
Click Upgrade. You’ll be taken to a Stripe-hosted checkout page. Enter your payment details and confirm the subscription.
Credits are applied immediately
Once your payment is confirmed, your new credit allowance is available straight away. You can verify the updated balance on the Billing page.
Billing is handled entirely by Stripe. Script.it does not store your payment card details.
Spend limits
To keep usage predictable, you can set a spend limit on your account. When your credit usage reaches the limit you’ve set, Script.it stops running automations until you increase the limit or the next billing period begins.
To configure a spend limit, go to Settings → Billing and enter a value in the Spend limit field. You can update or remove the limit at any time.
Checking your balance
Your current credit balance is always visible in Settings → Billing. The page also shows a usage breakdown so you can see which scripts and sessions are consuming the most credits.
